Fine Dining Server

Position Overview: As a Fine Dining Server at Bites & Bubbles, you will play a vital role in providing an exceptional and memorable dining experience to our esteemed guests. Your expertise in delivering top-notch service, extensive knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine, liquors, and ability to anticipate guests' needs will contribute to creating an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  1. Greeting and Seating: Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, assist with seating arrangements, and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their dining experience.

  2. Menu Presentation: Present menus to guests, providing detailed explanations of dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods. Offer recommendations and answer any questions regarding dietary restrictions or preferences.

  3. Order Taking: Efficiently take guests' orders, ensuring accuracy and proper notation of any special requests or modifications. Demonstrate knowledge of wine pairings and confidently suggest suitable options.

  4. Food and Beverage Service: Serve meals and beverages promptly, following proper service techniques such as synchronized dish delivery, table-side preparation, and wine service. Ensure all items are presented impeccably and in accordance with the restaurant's standards.

  5. Guest Assistance: Continuously monitor guests' needs throughout the meal, promptly addressing any additional requests, refilling glasses, and removing empty plates or utensils. Remain attentive without being intrusive.

  6. Table Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized dining environment, including setting up tables, arranging decorations, and ensuring proper tableware presentation. Reset tables efficiently for the next guests.

  7. Knowledge of Menu and Ingredients: Stay informed about the menu offerings, ingredients, cooking techniques, and seasonal specials. Be prepared to answer questions and provide accurate information to guests.

  8. Up-selling and Revenue Generation: Actively promote additional food and beverage items, including desserts, specialty cocktails, and after-dinner drinks. Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.

  9. Complaint Handling: Address any guest concerns or complaints professionally and promptly, taking appropriate actions to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.

  10. Teamwork: Collaborate with the kitchen and support staff to ensure smooth service flow, effective communication, and overall operational efficiency. Assist fellow team members as needed to ensure exceptional service is consistently delivered.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a server in a fine dining establishment is required.

  • Excellent knowledge of fine dining etiquette, including table-side service, wine service, and proper use of silverware.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and exceptional service standards.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine and cocktail pairings.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy bus tubs or equipment if necessary, and able to walk up and down stairs repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for providing outstanding hospitality.
