Fine Dining Food-Runner

Position Overview: As a Fine Dining Food Runner at Bites & Bubbles, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to the guests' tables. Your exceptional attention to detail, coordination skills, and knowledge of proper service procedures will contribute to creating a seamless dining experience for our esteemed guests.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

  1. Food Delivery: Retrieve prepared dishes from the kitchen in a timely and organized manner, ensuring accurate plating and garnishing before transporting them to the appropriate tables.

  2. Table Setup: Collaborate with the service team to set up tables before the guests' arrival, ensuring proper placement of tableware, glassware, and any additional items required for service.

  3. Order Accuracy: Verify that the food being delivered matches the order ticket or POS system, ensuring accuracy in dish selection, modifications, and special requests.

  4. Plate Presentation: Ensure that each dish is presented according to the restaurant's high standards, including appropriate positioning, garnishing, and any accompanying sauces or condiments.

  5. Timely Service: Collaborate closely with the kitchen and service staff to ensure that food is delivered promptly, maintaining optimal temperature and quality.

  6. Table Communication: Communicate effectively with servers to coordinate food delivery and any additional needs or requests from guests, such as extra cutlery or condiments.

  7. Guest Assistance: Provide prompt and attentive service to guests by assisting with table adjustments, refilling water glasses, and accommodating any reasonable requests to enhance their dining experience.

  8. Food Knowledge: Develop a solid understanding of the menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer guest inquiries accurately and provide recommendations when necessary.

  9. Table Clearing and Reset: Clear empty plates and utensils from tables efficiently, ensuring proper timing to maintain a comfortable dining pace for guests. Reset tables promptly for the next course or party.

  10. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including food stations, tray stands, and service stations. Assist with general restaurant cleanliness, such as clearing debris or spills to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.



  • Previous experience as a food runner or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred.

  • Excellent coordination and multitasking skills to handle multiple orders and deliver food promptly.

  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate plating, proper garnishing, and adherence to presentation standards.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to guest needs.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with the kitchen and service staff and relay guest requests or modifications accurately.

  • Knowledge of proper food handling and safety guidelines.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift bus tubs, or plates and the ability to go up and down stairs many times during shift while carrying plates.

  • A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality.
